What Happened to Robot Revenge? It's Now Kitty Kaboom

Robot Revenge, the pixel-art slingshot game about a little repair bot named BIT, has been rebuilt and relaunched as Kitty Kaboom. It’s the same App Store and Google Play listing from the same developer, and version 3.0.0 went live in August 2026. If you update over your old install, Kitty Kaboom finds your old save on first launch and gives you a welcome-back package: bonus coins, the Boomer cat from day one, an exclusive Veteran Crown hat and a VETERAN badge.

What doesn’t carry over is your level progress. Kitty Kaboom is a new game with new levels, so old stars are converted into rewards rather than copied across.

Is Kitty Kaboom the same game as Robot Revenge? #

It’s the same listing and the same genre, but a different game. The app has now had three identities: Cyberpunk Revenge first, then Robot Revenge, and now Kitty Kaboom. Each version kept the slingshot physics at its core. Kitty Kaboom replaces the dark cyberpunk world with bright cartoon cats and all-new levels.

If you played Robot Revenge, some things will feel familiar. You still drag back, watch the dotted arc and release, and you still tap mid-flight to trigger a power. Boomer explodes like BOOM did, Mochi splits in three like TRIO, and Gizmo’s magnet does a MAG-style yank.

The Robot Revenge store subtitle was “Destroy the Consortium.” The new one is “Slingshot smash & knock down.”

What do Robot Revenge veterans get? #

On its first launch, Kitty Kaboom checks your device for a save from Robot Revenge or the older Cyberpunk Revenge. If it finds one, you get:

  • Coins: 15 for every Robot Revenge star plus 5 for every completed level, and 20 for every completed Cyberpunk Revenge level. The total is at least 50 and at most 2,500.
  • Boomer from the start. New players only get him after finishing the Backyard’s last level (1-15).
  • The Veteran Crown, a hat that can’t be bought, already on Pounce.
  • A VETERAN badge on the title screen.

For example, a Robot Revenge player with 100 stars and 40 completed levels would get 1,500 + 200 = 1,700 coins. That’s enough for several upgrades right away. Our guide to the best Kitty Kaboom upgrades suggests where to spend them.

How do you get the veteran rewards? #

  1. Update, don’t uninstall. Your old save only exists on your phone. Deleting the app deletes it, and there’s no account to recover it from.
  2. Install the update from the same store listing. On the App Store and Google Play, the listing you used for Robot Revenge now installs Kitty Kaboom.
  3. Open Kitty Kaboom. The check runs automatically on first launch. You don’t need to tap anything.
  4. Look for the VETERAN badge on the title screen and the crown on Pounce.

The old save is read once, on your device. According to the game’s privacy policy, it’s never uploaded, and the app leaves the old data untouched rather than changing or deleting it.

What if the rewards didn’t appear? #

The check only happens when Kitty Kaboom starts for the first time on a device that still has an old save. If you uninstalled Robot Revenge before updating, or you’re on a different phone, there’s no old save to find. If your old game had no stars and no completed levels, there’s nothing to convert either.

What if I reset my progress? #

Kitty Kaboom has a Reset progress option in Settings. Veterans who reset keep the VETERAN badge and the Veteran Crown, but the bonus coins and the early Boomer aren’t granted again.

Why did Robot Revenge change? #

The developer kept the slingshot physics that worked and rebuilt everything around it: a new cartoon look, new characters, 60 new levels, a coin shop with upgrades and hats, and a daily challenge. The game is still free, still needs no account, and still keeps your progress on your device. It has no in-app purchases and is paid for with ads. Our post on whether Kitty Kaboom is free explains exactly where the ads appear.

Why do reviews on the store page mention Robot Revenge? #

Renaming a listing keeps its ratings and reviews on both stores, so older reviews written about Robot Revenge (or Cyberpunk Revenge) still appear on Kitty Kaboom’s page. They describe the previous game, not the current one.

Can you still download Robot Revenge? #

No. The listing now installs Kitty Kaboom, and there’s no separate Robot Revenge download on either store. Kitty Kaboom’s campaign is new, so returning players start at level 1-1 with a head start instead.

Frequently asked questions #

Is Kitty Kaboom the same app as Robot Revenge? #

Yes and no. It’s the same store listing from the same developer, and it installs as an update. But the game itself was rebuilt, with cats instead of robots as the heroes and 60 new levels.

Will I lose my Robot Revenge progress? #

Your old levels don’t carry over, because Kitty Kaboom’s levels are all new. Your progress is converted into a welcome-back reward instead: up to 2,500 coins, Boomer from day one, the Veteran Crown and a VETERAN badge.

I played Cyberpunk Revenge. Do I get anything? #

Yes. Kitty Kaboom also looks for Cyberpunk Revenge saves and gives 20 coins for each level you completed there, with the same 50-coin minimum and 2,500-coin maximum.

Is Kitty Kaboom still free? #

Yes. Every level, cat and mode is free. The game shows ads and has no in-app purchases.

Does Kitty Kaboom need an account to keep my progress? #

No. Like Robot Revenge, it has no sign-up and saves everything on your device.
